It's only right that I bring light to the two most talked about events that took place in sports this week. Wednesday night we had the opportunity to see Kobe Bryant put on a show on last time and man he did just that. Kobe went on a scoring rampage for his final game in that Lakers jersey, scoring a jaw dropping 60 points to top off the legacy he will be leaving behind. The other highlight of Wednesday night was the story about those boys in gold. The Golden State Warriors made NBA history, controlling the NBA the whole regular season and achieving the best record ever 73-9, a record that was once held by the great Michael Jordan and his 72-10 Chicago Bulls team. Records are made to be broken and greatness comes and goes, but it is our job to grasp on to it when we can witness and recognize it.
History is being made every single day we wake up. No matter the place on scale we put it on the history is still documented. I say this because when some of us here about making history, we think of the things that can land us the most retweets or a seat on the Ellen Show. But all aspects of life are historic, from setting records to being a family first, history is what we make it. In a sense we all are living in this movie style lifestyle. The A-list stars of our own motion pictures. A film on all of our everyday encounters, from meeting new people and experiencing new life to ensuring you stamp yourself with great achievements through the history of life. I think in life we all have this common goal of greatness, it's just our job to recognize what we have and run with it.
In life there are a multitude of different things we want to do throughout our lifetimes. It can range in a variety of skills learned or passed down for us to express. But in this pursuit of our peaks we cannot fall victim to the temptations that surround us, like negative vibes and the chase of greed. If you spend your time chasing for the acceptance of outside forces you will be wasting your time, never being able to recognize the greatness you embody. British contemporary philosopher Alan Watts stated that it's "better to have a short life that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way. And after all, if you do really like what you're doing, it doesn't matter what it is".
Knowing yourself, having a clear view on all of your thoughts and emotions. Being confident when presenting your image to the world's population of judges. And lastly staying true to who you are even when the world around you (your peers) seems to being wearing the mask of the society. In this world it is important to stay true to yourself and always remember that YOU ARE GREAT in your own way.

Explore & Adore
Wanting to travel the world is something I have had on my mind for quite some time now. I seem to have these dreams about me being on a boat on an island somewhere. Now I have been on my fair share of trips, like the roaring waters of Niagara Falls or even the low skies of St. Louis on a small plane, what a ride. But I always hear of these exotic places people love to go out of the country. So that's why when I say travel I mean across the globe. The world is such a large place, it only leaves a person like me wondering what else is really out there all around the world.
I feel that when you can take time away from your typical environment and get away from the norms of what surround you it shapes you into a different person. Its like a urban city kid being taken to a farm for the summer, what a flip of environment. Getting out of your comfort zone and exploring new things, new places, and even new people. All these type characteristics build us into the diverse people we are. I grew up in an urban city, a place where I was exposed to variety of different people and culture. Despite a rather tough persona we inhabit, a space for unity is being welcomed to rid away with any bad vibes.
I always wanted to know what goes through the mind of people who travel space, and are able to see the things a majority of us never will hands on. So I watched a video of former astronauts discussing their travels outer space and their new perspective on things here at home. One talked about how his experience outer space changed how he view all of us as a global society. He talked about the time he spent outer space, a chance to look down on the Earth and see it as ONE big thing, he compared this sight to us as people being altogether as one big unit like Earth is in the universe. These type of perspectives come from being able to explore different places and traveling out of your environment. Now everyone won't get the chance to go outer space but we can travel the world we inhabit.
Having the opportunity to explore different cultures and see how people of different walks of life live you begin to take appreciation for all the resources and things we have provided to us. Some have less and some have more but it is the job of all of us as a unit to support each other. In today's society you see an uprising of unity but you also see the opposite in the growth of tension between people. Being able to set aside those differences and come together for progression is the key to a better tomorrow. Because in reality, I sometimes look at the world similar to the astronaut's ideas. I say this because we all are a unit and seeing us together is something I long to see. So this is why I long to travel.

Love Yours
Being able to enjoy the company of others around you is a great feeling. When you have people in your life that build you up instead of breaking you down brings strong chemistry into your life. Growing up you always hear about the village it takes to raise a child, in other words there is a supporting cast that has a tremendous impact on your growth. We grow and we learn from all things that surround us and every person that provides a spark that ignites the light that guides us through this journey of life. The support system is key for you to take sides with and hold a firm grip to. At some points in our growth we began to drift away from these strong connections we have. But in reality it is those outside forces that start to effect the choices you decide to make during your development. There are many different forces that shape us into the people we have become or are growing to embody. But let's talk about these different stages.
When we began to grow into that teenage stage there is a huge transition on how we view others beliefs and even the teachings of our upbringings. This is where we started to feel the nature of popularity and being accepted by our fellow peers. It's funny thinking back about those times and remembering how defiant I could be sometimes. Never understanding why so much work and teachings were being pushed to me, but it is now in this transition into adulthood that you understand everything that you were being presented to was all for the benefits of your growth. Maturity doesn't come with age but the older you are I can ensure to you that it you are exposed to more things. Your growth takes effect in many different places and stages throughout your life.
So the question comes to my mind, how do we appreciate the company of the supporting cast? I know how much power they have. When you have people in your life that can pick you up when you start to tumble, or even those people that shake you up when you need some adjustments. All of those powers that surround you help shape you into the person you grow into every day. Those teachings running through your head constantly, the voices that keep you in line. We need that extra push in this life full of ups and downs. The lessons we learn all should always remain embedded in all of us. No person is who they are without the people around them. The support keeps you in a good space, where you can remain free from any negativity and there is a covered ride through the pushing through of life and growth.

G.O.O.D
Do you ever sit back some days and just examine the environment that surrounds you. The world and everything in it has been around for quite some time now. The growth that has been steadily developing throughout the lives of each and every generation. We have made so much progression since the beginning of times. The rapid growth in technology along with the growing minds throughout society. More people are growing to adapt to a better lifestyle and this plays into the growth of the whole universe as a whole. Now I have to admit that there are some gray lines in this process of growth, in fact we are still in the bonding stage between all people. A problem that many don't see a end to but with the progression of society as a unit, it can only lead to a positive outcome.
The vibes that surround us are very strong and they also contain contagion. For example, have you ever been in a room with friends and its all good energy until another friend comes in discussing some problems, you will began to sense the whole vibe of the room come down. And that is just how easy it is to transfer energy between people. So instead of pushing out the negativity why don't we all just make the strong push produce positivity. I understand that all things in life cant always be positive but I always have to stress the transformation of that negativity to positivity. I think for people to be able to remain in a good space they have to find that one thing that can make them feel like they are being taken away from everything. For me that one thing is writing along with music. The feel I get is something I recommend for everyone to experience.
In order for us to produce these good spaces we must form unity. The gap between the people of our generation is devastating and has a huge impact on the progression of all of us as a unit. We can bring division and then long for change, that's like a criminal wanting to be free but still have the drive to commit more crime. We as people cant be flip flop. Cheering one day and booing the next, this only leads to confusion and lack of progression. I know that this generation is growing to be more accepting of different beliefs and backgrounds(which is a good thing), but understanding each other better and sharing the space of positivity around everywhere leads to that progression we really need.

The Dream State
This is a dream state that takes you away from all the drama that goes on in your outside world. We experience a number of different avenues throughout these days. Every person we see, every situation we go through weighs on us throughout the process of the day but there is one thing that takes you away from these daily encounters. Every person needs this space to get away from these things, some of us go about the breakaway differently, but I think the best way is the dream state. When we all are moving through the hustle and bustle of everyday life we all long for that break away zone. This zone takes me into another world a new universe rather. To feel alive through these dreams and we run through these tunnels of stages. Every stage takes me further and further away from all the drama we have encountered through our days. I love this feeling, to be able to rest after all the words of the day have been spoken, to be able to let everything just clear your head, even through all of the hardships that you may have thought of and or encountered through these days, this state takes you away from all of that.
I speak about this dream state in such a fashion because I know how I feel when I experience it. I know that it takes me away from all off the negativity that I has been presented through this time I have spent up and alert, leaving me to take in all of the energy around me. I know that when I have the luxury of getting to experience this take away zone, I take advantage of it and I remain in my most restful stage, it feels like a godly blessings sometimes. I am giving my body an opportunity to regroup itself, a healing process both in and out. I know that many have their many different religious views. But I will speak to the fact that I know God speaks to me in these zones at time. I am being prepared for what is coming next for me.
There are some situations that make us lose the opportunity to gain this peace we experience through sleep. These things can make up of many different things such as, work, school, projects, family situations and an array of other obstacles that can at times seem to break us during life. But the idea that I am really trying to push through this is that even in these roller coaster days, there is always that one antidote that can take you away from all of the vibes through these rough days. This dream state is something that I know everyone really loves the feeling of. Some love it more than others and that sometimes lead us to laziness but we work through these loopholes to provide a better space for the next day that we have set force in front of us. We need rest and good vibes to get through these things, so let us not forget about its importance.

Battle of Sexes
The everlasting clash between the two sides of a male's perspective and a women's perspective. The battle that seems to have no end in sight, the stronger these connections get these days the more learning and growing we must experience through it. What I am writing about is the different ways we view platonic and intimate relationships. This has been something that has been weighing on me for a good amount of time. Having discussions amongst both sides of the spectrum, leave me here to write about it.
I recently was in deep conversion with a girl I consider to be the equal of a blood sibling, we were talking about how the way that guys think and how their perspective dictates how girls shape their beliefs on relational things. To be more clear, girls act on the action of guys which can lead to both negative and positive effects. The positive is that girls have a better insight on the guy's perspective of things helping her be better prepared for different reactions to various situations. But the negative is that unfortunately there are a number of girls who take in the wrong perception of the situation and when they react with counter actions it not only hurts the relationship but it also gives way to world of stereotypes placed on most guys when it come to the topic of relationships.
These stereotypes and beliefs stem from a number of different vessels. All things ranging from the constant argument that no guy can commit to true loyalty, to the counter argument that girls are way to friendly to other guys. Both sides seem to always attack the idea of loyalty, but why is that? Is it because we as people cant trust ourselves, so trusting others seems like a unbeatable task? Or is it because we are so afraid of commitment that when we experience something real we may not be strong enough to handle it?
Girls and guys when always fight this battle no matter how far ahead we are in these relational things. We both always have a supporting cast behind us through every argument, acting as proofreaders to our mistaken situation (your friends). Receiving insight from people on their thoughts and opinions only fills your mind with so many diverse ideas that when it comes time to collectively think together to solve our differences, we are left with the ideas of others mixed in with our own emotions leaving us to wonder, will this back and forth game ever be completed, or are we all new players in a game of hall of famers. These situations happen in the best of relationships, and these topics are always debated because both sides always feel the need for more insight and even clarity from their opposing side. Working together helps out the most and working through negative problems is paramount.

Shoot Your Shot
When we see somebody we like there are a lot of different
feelings experienced at that moment. We can either act on the good energy, by
approaching the person with a line of poetry to impress them in our favor, or
we can ignore the opportunity and let life run its course. Some people believe
that the things in life that are meant to be always find their way of coming
together eventually. But others believe in the method of "shooting your
shoot", not letting the opportunity pass but taking advantage of it no
matter the outcome of the situation is.
But I always wonder why some people are so much more open to introducing themselves to new people while others are more hesitant when it comes to situations like this. I guess it comes with the territory of comfort. Everyone always has those butterfly feelings when put in front of the person of their interest but it is how we deal with that moment of discomfort the separates us in these situations.
I am more of a laid back person. Not always so anxious to find the next person that sparks my eye. I don't lean toward either side of this tilting belief, I stand in my own lane when it comes to these things. I say this because some days I approach any girl I want, then some days I'll lay back and enjoy the beauty of their presence. You don't always need to be so outspoken when trying to make yourself an item to someone. The small talk, or brief smile and wave can actually take you far places, trust me I know this from experience.
Opportunities present themselves every day, it is our decision to either take advantage of them or let them pass. Neither decision is wrong nor right it really just depends on the type of person you are and the feeling you experience in these everyday encounters. And really to speak to both sides I can say this, when shooting your shot the only bad outcome is the art of being turned down and for the more relaxed group of people the negative outcome for them is never knowing. Slight flaw in that approach but what works best for some people is the reason why they are the way they are. Everyone has a different approach to these situations and that is what separates us, creates diversity in mindset which is not a bad thing that some may believe.
So shoot your shot, however you feel the shot should be taken. Don't give in to the opinions of other to feel the need to fit in. We are all unique and approach things differently. And in closing I know that these are the things that make us great as people. I am inspired by people's desire to be different and brake away from the walls of the norm. We were put here to create, produce and make change. So lets not forget these things through our everyday encounters.
