I rise to a darken hallway, escaping my deepest thoughts.
I'm awaken from my nightly meditation by the chilling breeze of the morning atmosphere.
As I walk into the narrow, marble floored, white walled cave. The bright
chandelier hangs above my place of peace. To some this may just be a normal
place, but to me this is where my day begins, this is where I see myself for
who I really am. Not just the outside appearance, but who I am on the inside.
My place of content is my bathroom mirror.
The art of reflection, the knowledge of knowing myself and being able to accept myself for who I really am, and not just the person people see me as. All three of these feelings are met when I step into my realm of peace. Many people care more about how they are seen by the outside world, that they get caught up trying to be accepted and lose sight of themselves in the process. This is why you have to remain true to who you are, know yourself and continue to pursue your peak of greatness.
So this is where my racing thoughts all come together, this is where I not only look into the eyes of my reflection but I look into the person I am reflecting. Very introspective moment to live in. Before moisturizer is applied to my twisted hair, before the shirt, before the pants, before I take my step in the sneakers of the day. This place is where this young kid has his brightest thoughts and faces his darkest fears.
I am inspired by my desire to be different. I try my best not to follow trends, instead I like to create my own. And I never allow my environment to have a negative effect on me. Being optimistic. Shedding light on the darkest situations. Having your own mindset in this one minded society. These are all keys to finding content inside yourself and being a difference in this (hypothetically speaking) cloned society. These days you seem to have more people in worry than in happiness. And instead of being optimistic, everyone looks at the glass half empty when it's really ready to overflow.
I have practiced the art of being optimistic and also keeping my mind in a place of content. Trusting yourself to make the right decisions. Making an impact in your community. Making the best out of every situation and making sure you are always headed to a positive goal and striving for greatness. These are all the racing thoughts that travel through my mind in my place of content.

I agree that so many people nowadays are looking at a mirror, seeing what they want to be, rather than appreciating what they have right in front of them. Of course, some may want some change in what they see, but it's still important to take some time and reflect each day. Insightful post.
